This summer and fall the garden just keeps on giving. Actually not so much our garden. Our garden is very much a work in progress and looks very miskept at the moment but that’s a different story for another day. Thankfully we are blessed with wonderful friends who are kind to supply us with the very best from their own gardens. Like chillies. Though I don’t know which variety they are, I do know that chillies are perfect for bringing a little piece summer to a wintery dish. Our friends that kindly shared their plentitude with us suggests making chilioil. And the recipe is quite simpel:
Chillies in a blender
Flavor neutral oil until your chillies are covered
And then just blend away
To be used as salad topping, giving flavor to your soups, stews, casseroles or other. Maybe as a dipping sauce with your fresh spring rolls, homebaked pizza or in a take-away kebab or durum – which is one of my own favorites 😉
Chillies, however, in their own right, is an exotic fruit in these lands and are grown i green houses but has become more popular over the past years. If you are a good gardener however, chillies can be grown in the garden.
